Nestled between the city sprawl of Seattle and the snow-crested peaks of the Cascade Mountain Range, sits the small town of North Bend. This town is surrounded by forested trails, access to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, and numerous quiet river access points. The weather systems here boast many rainy days which I find to be ideal when exploring these vibrant woodlands.
The town’s location in relation to the Cascade Mountain range provides a higher annual rainfall and snowfall in the winter months. These conditions provide many opportunities for moody, rustic landscape photography.
I have been photographing in these foothills for over a decade and I always feel at home in these dark yet mysterious woodlands.
